A labour of love with this family. This new home originally had consent to convert a modern steel barn into a dwelling – after a ‘couple’ of glasses of Merlot (in between bouts of Covid lockdowns) with the clients we redesigned a new dwelling together to replace the consent.

The barn was removed and relocated, and this new family home nestles in a small orchard of cherry trees. With high thermal efficiency to the fabric of the construction when coupled with Solar PV and battery storage this home is almost self sufficient with its power requirements.

The house is designed with an adopted agricultural aesthetic, making it modern but steeped in traditional forms. A super place for  family and extended socialising (we have enjoyed a little more of that Merlot there since it’s been finished) – a real privilege to have worked on this one – love these guys!
