A Class Q consented ‘pole barn’ was not what the clients wanted and albeit interesting was not going to give the best conversion. After consultation with Cornwall Council Planning it was confirmed that in principle the barn could be replaced with a new dwelling.
Designed on the basis of it being a modern farmhouse with an agricultural aesthetic consent was obtained for a new dwelling replacing the barn. This four/five bedroom house is orientated with a south westerly aspect to maximise the views over the Idless Valley and to make best use of the movement of the sun from the morning through to the night.
A stunning location, isolated but a stone’s throw from the City of Truro.
