This proposed farmhouse is to replace a static caravan that has been used by the family for decades. The site has expansive views over the owners’ fields but is private from the public road that serves it. The form is deliberately mixed to reflect the changing rooflines of the nearest neighbour as well as to reduce its apparent mass.
This house will be detailed with high levels of thermal insulation and low energy heating systems. Its plan is future proofed for life time living with options for level living as well as space included for the potential installation of a lift if so required.
The design reflects a traditional vernacular aesthetic in a modern envelope suiting the client’s particular requirements.
